How did you start your company?
SwimFin was first registered as a company in June 2006 with sales hitting the market in Jan 2008. Currently our aim, which has always been the case, of getting a SwimFin into as many if not all households around the world where children/families spend some time in and around water. That could be swimming lessons, holidays, playing in the pool etc
What are you working on at the moment?
We continue to reach out to swimming teachers, service providers, leisure centres, etc Internationally to adopt SwimFin as part of their learn to swim program. SwimFin has been proven to reduce the time it takes to get children water safe compared to other currently used methods.
This is vital in reducing the number of drowning's around the world
What projects / ambitions do you have for the future of your company?
We are currently trying to assist nations in Africa, where facilities and amenities are not readily available and drowning prevention is a huge matter of National importance.
We hope to start recycling SwimFins in the course of time and send them to remote villages where there are no means of formal tuition but with a basic understanding can help teach the villagers enough to prevent unintentional drowning.
What do you like about Scott Bader IC?
We as a company have always been based in Northampton. Scott Bader Innovation centre is a central network hub for us. It has easy access due to the infrastructure of the road, rail, sea and air which makes importing and exporting as well as national deliveries much more convenient.
